W3Counter – Global Web Stats
I was browser checking for a website I’m programming at work last Friday. Always the fun part, I’ve spent time making the thing work with all the ‘good’ browsers, now to spend a large amount of time just creating workarounds and various stupid hacks for the crap browsers that still plague this world.
I’m pretty sure I’m not the only programmer out there that thinks “Internet Explorer 6″ is a curse word. I’ve wasted hours of my life just trying to get stupid things displaying correctly for the 14.04% of people who can’t/won’t update (and probably pine for the good old days of the internet, back when Mosaic was new-fangled).
Anyway, IE6 is consistently fading away into the past and one of these fateful day I’ll be able to say, hell with that browser (like we did with netscape), no more hair-pulling for the lowest common denominator. Of course IE7 will probably become the new bane, but from where we sit now, that will be a welcome adversary with soft claws.
Ok, I’m turning back to my normal color now, programmer rant done.
